Jonge dansers mogen uiteraard niet ontbreken bij de viering van deze bijzondere verjaardag van Jiří Kylián. Tenslotte zijn zij het die een verbinding leggen naar de toekomst van de dans en juist zij moeten dus kennis kunnen maken met het repertoire van danskunstenaar Kylián.
De twee dansvakopleidingen van Rotterdam en Den Haag hebben als bijdrage aan de viering een exclusief collageprogramma samengesteld uit verschillende werken van het oeuvre van de meesterchoreograaf. Bij beide opleidingen wordt het repertoire van Kylián regelmatig ingestudeerd. Codarts Rotterdam heeft van 2010 tot 2013 een intensieve samenwerking met de meesterchoreograaf vormgegeven in het kader van het onderzoeklectoraat One Of A Kind. Het Koninklijk Conservatorium brengt al jaren hun studenten in aanraking met de bewegingstaal van Jiři Kylián en presenteerde onlangs een volledige versie met live muziek van Falling Angels ter gelegenheid van het 60-jarige jubileum van ‘de school voor jong talent’. Op het Celebrating Kylián!-programma staan naast WhereAbouts Unknown ook delen uit A Way A Lone, Bella Figura en het in 2013 door Kylián voor Codarts gecreëerde groepswerk Stonehenge.

It goes without saying that young dancers should be part of this celebration of Jiří Kylián’s 70th birthday. After all, they are the ones who are going to make the connection to the future of dance and they are the new generation that will inherit the repertory of dance artist Kylián.
The two dance academies of Rotterdam and The Hague have compiled an exclusive collage program comprised of various works from the oeuvre of a master choreographer. The repertory of Kylián is studied at both academies every year. From 2010 to 2013, Codarts Rotterdam reflected on an intense collaboration with the master choreographer within the framework of the research lectorate One Of A Kind. For years, The Koninklijk Conservatorium is bringing students in contact with the movement language of Jiři Kylián and recently presented an integral version with live music of Fallen Angels on the occasion of the 60th jubilee of the ‘school for young talent’. The Celebrating Kylián! Program includes WhereAbouts Unknown, parts of A Way A Lone, Bella Figura, and the ensemble piece that Kylián created in 2013 for Codarts, Stonehenge.
